Soos Creek Water and Sewer District purchases 100% of our water from Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) Cedar River Water System.
Snow melt and precipitation naturally collect in the Cedar River Watershed, a protected 90,000+ acre area located within the Cascade Mtn. Range and stored in Chester Morse Lake. From Chester Morse Lake, water travels down the Cedar River and is diverted at Landsburg, near Maple Valley, through a series of pipes to Lake Youngs where it is treated and sent to surrounding communities.

Soos Creek WSD maintains over 223 miles of watermain and services over 19,000 water connections. Soos Creek is responsible for your water meter and the water line from your meter to the main, usually located in the road. Water customers are required to maintain access to their water meter and are responsible for maintaining the water line from the meter to the home and any internal or external plumbing systems.
In the event of an emergency, such as broken pipes from freezing, water can be turned off at the shutoff valve inside your home or at the meter.
