Low-Income Utility Rate Reduction Program

The District offers a 30% reduction on water and/or sewer base rates for qualified low-income seniors and disabled persons.

Leak Adjustment Policy for Service Line Leaks

If you have a leak in your service line, the District may provide a one-time bill adjustment for qualifying applications. This leak adjustment policy applies only to service line leaks between the meter and the house or commercial structure, and does not apply to irrigation systems, toilets, hot water tanks, hose bibs, or any other plumbing inside or outside of the house.

The District keeps a list of local agencies that may provide financial assistance for water and/or sewer utility bills.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, King County 2-1-1 (1-800-621-4636) connects people to the help they need. They provide the most comprehensive information on health and human services in King County, including housing assistance, help with financial needs, and locations of food banks. 

Housing Repair Assistance Programs

If you have a leak within your home, you may be eligible for a housing repair program run by your city. 

King County Senior & Disabled Property Tax Exemptions and Deferrals

State law provides 2 tax benefit programs for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. They include property tax exemptions and property tax deferrals. With exemptions, you pay less taxes or none at all. With deferrals, you are able to pay your taxes at a later date.
