Grinder Pumps

What Is a Grinder Pump?

When a property cannot connect to the District’s sewer system by traditional gravity service, usually because of topography, a grinder pump may be allowed on a case by case basis. Grinder Pumps require entering into a Special Service Agreement with the District that is recorded on title.

Adding a grinder pump to your property requires obtaining a Side Sewer Permit from Soos Creek and an Electrical Permit from WA State Dept. of Labor & Industries or from your municipality.

The District recommends purchasing your grinder pump from Correct Equipment in Redmond. Grinder pumps are required to be E/One brand, D-Series. E/One employs Certified Service Technicians who can respond to maintenance or repair requests by contacting Correct Equipment.

Soos Creek will need to hold an onsite pre-construction meeting with new grinder pump owners prior to installation. Once installed the system will need to pass a Pressure Test, Electrical Inspection and a Final Inspection prior to being operational.
