Welcome to Soos Creek Water &
Sewer District (SCWSD). SCWSD is a municipal corporation of King
County, Washington, serving south King County since 1939. Formerly
Water District 58 and Cascade Sewer District, the two merged in
1987.
Originally serving an area of
less than 2 square miles and a few hundred customers, SCWSD now
encompasses over 35 square miles and provides water and sewer
services to almost 100,000 people in southeast King County. Water
is purchased from Seattle Public Utilities and reaches our reservoirs
via Lake Youngs, which is adjacent to the District's office. The
sanitary sewer system, with 30 lift stations, conveys the wastewater
to the King County Department of Natural Resources treatment plant
in Renton for treatment and disposal.
SCWSD is governed by a Board
of Commissioners, five publicly elected citizens living within
the SCWSD service area.
