Water Service
Soos Creek Water & Sewer District (SCWSD) is responsible for water mains and service connections within streets and easements. There are currently over 17,000 connections within the District. The customer is responsible for their water service from the customer's side of the meter to, and within, the house itself.

All customers should know the location of their meter. The meter has a shutoff valve which will stop the flow of water to the household in an emergency. All customers should know the location of the water shutoff valve inside their house. This is usually quicker and less complicated to shut off in the event of an emergency.

Sanitary Sewer Service
SCWSD is responsible for sewer mains within streets and easements. There are currently more than 29,000 connections within the District. The customer is responsible for the lines from the sewer main to the house (side sewer). Most houses have a sewer clean-out located close to the foundation for side sewer line cleaning. Some houses may also have a "grinder" pump to transport the wastewater into the sewer main.

SCWSD transports the wastewater, via sewer mains, to the King County Department of Natural Resources treatment plant in Renton for treatment and disposal.

If a leak is suspected and you are unaware of the responsibility, please contact SCWSD's Service Department at (253) 630-9900. We will dispatch one of our field service personnel to make a determination.

If you have a leak and it is properly repaired, please review our "Leak Adjustment Policy" to determine if you qualify for an adjustment on your bill.
