Soos Creek Water & Sewer District Public Participation - King County Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan

In 2003, King County developed its first Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan (RHMP) in partnership with participating cities, school districts, utility districts and emergency service providers. Approximately 29 jurisdictions participated in the creation of the initial document, some additional jurisdictions were added in a later update. This effort was one of the steps in creating a community more resilient to natural, technological and societal hazard events and disasters. The plan was approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in June 2004.

As required by law, the RHMP must be updated every 5-years. Given Soos Creek Water and Sewer District is one of those jurisdictions, we are soliciting public input. The SCWSD Annex to the King County Regional Plan is currently being updated. A copy of the SCWSD Annex is available upon request at the District's office. A Public Meeting is scheduled for August 5, 2009 at 4:30 pm if you wish to provide comments for the update of SCWSD's annex to the RHMP.

If you have comments, questions, or suggestions about SCWSD's Annex, please email them to Linda Swanson, Executive Secretary, at lswanson@sooscreek.com on or before August 5, 2009.
